Já estive a ver. Realmente é tão mau que estão a pressionar a intel para que venha para fora uma declaração do que se está a passar. A amd pelos vistos já corrigiu mas ainda não lançou o update para as boards.

NVIDIA suggests retailers to sell its GeForce GPUs to gamers and not to miners

“For NVIDIA, gamers come first. All activities related to our GeForce product line are targeted at our main audience. To ensure that GeForce gamers continue to have good GeForce graphics card availability in the current situation, we recommend that our trading partners make the appropriate arrangements to meet gamers’ needs as usual. “

GeForce Partner Program Impacts Consumer Choice

While we usually like to focus on all the wonderful and immersive worlds that video cards and their GPUs can open up to us, today we are tackling something a bit different. The GeForce Partner Program, known as GPP in the industry, is a "marketing" program that looks to HardOCP as being an anticompetitive tactic against AMD and Intel.
    ...
What would it mean to have your "Gaming Brand Aligned Exclusively With GeForce?" The example that will likely resonate best with HardOCP readers is the ASUS Republic of Gamers brand. I have no knowledge if ASUS is a GPP partner, I am simply using the ROG brand hypothetically. If ASUS is an NVIDIA GPP partner, and it wants to continue to use NVIDIA GPUs in its ROG branded video cards, computers, and laptops, it can no longer sell any other company's GPUs in ROG products. So if ASUS want to keep building NVIDIA-based ROG video cards, it can no longer sell AMD-based ROG video cards, and be a GPP partner.

    Eh, eh, eh

Before we go any further, in the effort to be as transparent as possible, we need to let you know that AMD came to us and presented us with "this story."

First Rule of GPP: Don't Talk About GPP

Just over two weeks after Kyle broke the story of the Geforce Partner Program and its potential anti-consumer policies, the silence from Nvidia and it's partners has been deafening. Forbes published an article today, in which writer Jason Evangelho outlines that is isn't just Kyle who has been getting the cold shoulder. Jason states that while performing his own follow-up to the HardOCP investigation, all of his contacts have gone dark, including a few who had agreed to speak off the record. However Jason does state "I had two brief conversations that made it obvious the program was troublesome, to put it mildly."

Jason also points out a Reddit thread that was posted today, pointing out the GPP had claimed its "first victim." Further digging found nothing amiss at Asus' website, with plenty of ROG Radeon offerings. However the MSI product page for their "Gaming X" branded GPUs are devoid of Radeon cards. As well Gigabyte has released a new external GPU enclosure, housing an RX 580, which is suspiciously devoid of any AUROS branding, unlike the NVIDIA counterparts. ComputerBase.de reached out to Gigabyte about why this model was not under the brand for "players," and were told by Gigabyte that the focus of the RX 580 enclosure is not on "players."

NVIDIA GPP Ignites Uproar & Calls for Boycott as AIBs Begin Signing on
    ...
Now that we got that brief recap out of the way, let’s delve into a very interesting development. As of last week, gamers have been noticing a very peculiar trend beginning to occur with MSI and Gigabyte that suggests they might have joined NVIDIA’s GPP. These occurrences may qualify as very direct examples of how NVIDIA’s GPP may have already begun hurting consumer choice, as Kyle Bennet’s report warned it would.

Dell and HP Resist the NVIDIA GPP Leash - So Far

Since we found out about NVIDIA's GeForce Partner Program, aka GPP, a couple of months ago, we have seen changes implemented by NVIDIA's partners, but what has not happened is far more important to point out at this time.

AMD’s Response to NVIDIA’s GPP – This Means War

Today, AMD has come out with an official response to NVIDIA’s controversial GeForce Partner Program and it’s a declaration of all out war. For those out of the loop, the GeForce Partner Program came into the limelight under very peculiar circumstances last month after HardOCP’s Kyle Bennett published an investigative report detailing how NVIDIA was allegedly using the GPP effectively as a monopolistic market domination tool.

    NVIDIA Starts Disinformation GPP Campaign

Interesting rumors are now coming out that "Kyle was paid" big bucks for breaking the NVIDIA GPP story. And apparently NVIDIA's disinformation campaign to discredit the story around GPP is rubbing some folks the wrong way. Elric mentions below that "his name is also Brian," so I have to assume that PR at NVIDIA is starting this nastiness. No, I did not get paid for GPP, but I wish I would have. Hell, AMD even gave credit to PCPer for breaking story in its Freedom promo video. Interesting thoughts from Elric below.

Also worth mentioning is that I can tell you for sure that two of the things that NVIDIA told me about GPP are simply lies. Brian Burke of NVIDIA told me this about GPP before we wrote our initial story:

There is no commitment to make any monetary payments, or discounts for being part of the program.

That is a lie. I have it in writing that is not true. NVIDIA is withholding MDF monies as well as rebates and discounts if you don't go GPP. I have had conversations with people that have confirmed exactly what I have in writing.

NVIDIA is quickly painting itself into a corner, and I can say is that the silence from NVIDIA is deafening, and the rest of us know that too. If GPP was so great for the consumer as NVIDIA states, it would have already put hundreds of thousands of dollars into a PR campaign instead of going silent and telling the tech world it has "moved on" from the GPP story. They want this to just die and go away. Telling fellow journalists in the community that I am a paid mouthpiece of AMD is not below NVIDIA, and that is just a shame. And apparently some other folks don't like the way they are handling all of this either.

But at the end of the day, if the worst thing NVIDIA can say about me is that I get paid to tell the truth, I guess I can live with that.

More Confirmation Of NVIDIA GPP Impacting Consumer Choice

Are folks breaking the First Rule of NVIDIA GPP: Don't Talk About GPP? Allen Ngo of Notebook Check is reporting that he has spoken with "three independent and reliable sources" that are telling him that "Nvidia is strongly responsible for keeping Kaby Lake-G from proliferating." While we have not spent a lot of time discussing Kaby Lake-G (the Intel mobile CPU with AMD's Palo Alto GPU on substrate), we have touched on it a bit. Allen is flat out saying that NVIDIA is attempting to keep the Kaby Lake-G out of the market. One thing that we have not said publicly is that we believe that Kaby Lake-G was specifically targeted by another GPP-ish "program" before NVIDIA rolled out GPP, called "100% NVIDIA." We have not discussed this, simply because we could not verify that with multiple sources, so I have sort of left 100% NVIDIA in the rumor bin. However, if what Allen is saying over at Notebook Check is true, then it would make me think that it is possible that a "100% NVIDIA" program actually exists. Guys talk, you hear things. Except for NVIDIA, they are still not saying a word about GPP, except when they try to disparage others talking about GPP.

Nvidia puts the kibosh on the GeForce Partner Program

In any case, the GPP is behind us now. Nvidia says it's canceling the program "to avoid any distraction from the super exciting work we're doing." While almost everyone loves Nvidia's efficient GeForce GPUs, the aforementioned rumors and conjecture surrounding the GPP certainly weren't helping Nvidia's public image. No doubt the negative press resulting from the program—justified or otherwise—was another major reason for its cancellation.

It will be interesting to see the impact of the GPP's cancellation on Asus' Arez brand for Radeons. That's to say nothing of other AMD-based articles that lost their premium branding, like Gigabyte's RX 580 Gaming Box. Perhaps soon we'll again see ROG- and Aorus-branded products containing competitor GPUs.
